Today's Prayer

A Prayer for You to Become Who God Created You to Be

O Lord Jesus

Sometimes I feel like I am living… but not fully alive.
I know You created me for something deeper…
yet I do not always know how to become who You meant me to be.

Lord… teach me to become who You created me to be.

Strip away what is not from You…
the false voices… the hidden fears…
the need to compare… the desire to control.

Awaken in me the courage
to walk the path You prepared…
even when I do not fully understand it.

Ignite within me the fire of Your Spirit…
a quiet holy flame…
that brings light where there is darkness…
hope where there is heaviness…
and love where hearts are weary.

Let my life reflect You…
in the way I live… the way I love…
and the way I rise again.

Make me who You created me to be…
and let Your light shine through me…
so that others may find their way back to You.

I surrender my becoming to You, Jesus…
shape me… lead me…
set my soul on fire with Your love.

Amen.

Let your light shine before others…
that they may see your good works…
and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16.

A Prayer for Your Parents

O Lord Jesus,
I thank You for my parents
and for the years You have given them.

As their strength changes
and time leaves its mark,
surround them with Your care
and grant them peace.

Ease their worries
and calm their fears.
Give them patience with their limitations
and comfort in moments of weariness.

Reward them for all they have given—
their sacrifices, their love, their faithfulness.
May they feel Your nearness
and trust that they are held by You.

I place my parents into Your hands,
now and always.

Amen.

Isaiah 46:4
“Even to your old age I am he,
and to gray hairs I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save.”

A Prayer to Begin Your Day in Grace

Blessed Mary,
I’m beginning this day with a busy mind
and a heart already feeling pulled in many directions.

Please slow me down.
Help me breathe before I rush,
and think before I react.

There’s so much waiting for me today—
things to do, people to meet,
responsibilities I’m trying to carry well.
Help me place them in the right order,
one moment at a time.

Mother, walk ahead of me today.
Guide me toward people who are calm,
kind, and easy to be with.
Let my conversations be gentle,
interesting, and filled with peace—
not tense, not hurried, not heavy.

If I meet stress or difficult moments,
help me respond with patience.
If I feel overwhelmed,
remind me that I am not alone
and I do not have to manage everything myself.

Hold this day with me, Blessed Mother.
Cover my thoughts, my words,
and my steps with your quiet care.

Lead me closer to your Son
in everything I do today.

Amen.

A Prayer to Bless Your Home with God’s Light as We Celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany

Lord Jesus Christ,
on the feast of the Epiphany,
You revealed Yourself as Light for all people.

We invite You into this home.
Dwell with us as our peace, our guide, and our protection.
Bless all who live here and all who enter—
family, friends, and every guest.

May this home be a place of welcome,
where love is practiced,
forgiveness is learned,
and faith is lived daily.

Bless our work and our rest,
our conversations and our silence,
our joys and our struggles.
Guard this home from harm and division,
and fill it with Your light and peace.

As the Magi followed the star to You,
may we always be led back to You
in trust and humility.

Remain with us, Lord Jesus,
now and throughout this year.

Amen.

“On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they knelt down and paid him homage.” -Gospel of Matthew 2:11

A Prayer to Untie the Knots You Carry

Mother Mary,
I am not okay.
Something inside me feels tight and restless,
and I don’t know how to loosen it.
Please stay with me.

I have been holding what should be set down—
old hurts, quiet fears,
expectations that weigh more than they should.
I am tired of carrying what I cannot fix.

Untie what fear has tangled.
Soften what pain has hardened.
Open what has been closed by disappointment
and make room again for grace to move.

As the knots loosen,
let my heart open wide—
to peace,
to trust,
to the quiet blessings I may have missed.
Clear the way for what is meant to grow,
for what brings life,
for what draws me closer to God.

When faith feels thin and trust feels far,
carry my prayer for me.
Teach me to breathe again,
and to receive what I cannot earn.

Our Lady, Undoer of Knots,
lead me gently to your Son.
Let Jesus reign in my heart—
bringing order where there was confusion,
abundance where there was fear,
and peace that flows freely.

Amen.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you,
ask whatever you wish,
and it will be done for you.” -John 15:7

A PRAYER FOR WHEN YOU NEED TO CONTROL YOUR ANGER

O Blessed Mary,
you see my heart when it is unsettled
and my emotions when they begin to rise.

When I feel anger building inside me,
help me notice it before it takes control.
Teach me to pause,
to breathe,
and to slow down my reactions.

Intercede for me, Mother,
especially in moments when I feel hurt,
misunderstood, or quick to speak.
Help me remember that true strength
is found in restraint,
not in reacting out of frustration.

Guide me to choose patience over impulse,
silence over harsh words,
and understanding over pride.
Help me step back when my emotions are loud
and respond in a way that brings peace,
not regret.

Pray for me as I struggle to grow in self-control.
Ask your Son to work in me,
especially in these small but difficult moments—
to help me recognize anger as it rises,
to guide my choices before I react,
and to give me the grace
to respond with calm and wisdom.

Blessed Mother,
Please place your gentle hand over my heart.
Help me remain steady,
clear-minded,
and loving,
even when it feels hard.

I place this moment in your care.
Amen.

A PRAYER TO START YOUR YEAR WITH GOD'S BLESSINGS

Lord Jesus,
as I begin this new year,
I pause and come before You.

I carry with me the lessons the years have taught me—
what strengthened me,
what humbled me,
and what continues to shape my heart.

Thank You, Lord Jesus,
for the wisdom gained through experience,
for the mercy that meets me when I fall short,
and for Your faithfulness that never leaves me.

As I step into this year,
I choose to move forward with You—
to walk beside You,
to trust You with what I can see
and what I cannot yet understand.

Guide my decisions,
steady my heart,
and help me remain faithful
when the way feels uncertain.

Teach me to keep going with hope,
to grow with patience,
and to rely on You each day.

Lord Jesus, I place this year,
my plans, and my becoming
into Your hands—
asking not for ease,
but for Your presence and guidance.

Amen.

“I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20
